I've become graphic now, but yes, diet can contribute positively to this too!

In recent years, the increasing number of studies showing us how harmful the sun's rays have become and how much we need to protect ourselves from ultraviolet radiation have drawn our attention and distanced us from the tan we dream of. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is constantly burdened by environmental factors, especially in the summer. With proper care, there is a way to achieve the color we want and the health of our skin.

The substances that help in tanning are carotenoids. These substances are transformed in our body into vitamin A, which promotes skin elasticity. Where can we find them? In carrots, in general in yellow-orange vegetables, as well as in green leafy vegetables in abundance. While for vitamin A, we will focus on consuming fish, liver, dairy products and eggs.

Lycopene contributes, even to a small extent, to dark skin and is found in tomatoes, watermelon, red peppers, pink grapefruit. These ingredients, as antioxidants, also contribute to skin health and protection from radiation, irritation and sunburn.

Essential vitamins for a healthy tan are C & E. Combined, they help with skin firmness, rapid healing or prevention of burns, as well as premature aging.

Vitamin D may not help with tanning, but it helps with the absorption of vitamin A. Sources: Eggs, fatty fish, and fortified cereals.

Our allies in a healthy tan and in skin protection are also copper, zinc and selenium, which strengthen the collagen and elastin of the skin. Where can we find them? Shrimp, mussels, octopus, walnuts, strawberries, melons, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli and spinach.

Whatever the question, the answer will always lie in a proper and balanced diet. We will be together in the effort to get a tan!

Have a nice summer!

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

33

post-3720","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-various
["GET
