For many years, October has marked the prevention of breast cancer. Many information campaigns are organized with the aim of informing and early examination as it is a type of cancer, which with timely diagnosis we can fight with high success rates. We have therefore associated the month of October with screening. However, screening is not the only means of prevention. A healthy diet plays a primary role in both the prevention and better management of breast cancer.
A healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet plan that covers the needs of each organism in nutrients as well as vitamins, trace elements and antioxidants ensures a strong immune system and normal cellular function.
However, there are specific foods whose intake is important to limit, as mainly due to processing, they increase the chances of breast cancer and also make its management more difficult.
So pay special attention to:
- Junk Food
- Trans fatty acids
- Salt
- Limiting Alcohol
- Heavy Toxic Metals (zinc, lead, cadmium)
- Processed Foods
- Soy products
- Avoiding consumption of cold cuts
- Avoiding frequent consumption of red meat
On the contrary, there are foods whose consumption is essential in order to focus on breast cancer prevention.
- Fruits and Vegetables on a daily basis
- Preference for olive oil and fish consumption
- Daily consumption of cereals, preferably whole grains and as little processed as possible
We take care of ourselves and make our health and well-being a priority!
October, prevention month, a month of reminders of our personal care, examination and self-examination.
