What it is
The iDNA Test Vitamins & Trace Elements by iDNA Genomics examines 24 genetic polymorphisms in 22 genes that the scientific literature links to the absorption and metabolism of vitamins, trace elements and fatty acids. The dietitian uses the results as an additional tool to personalise your nutrition plan, together with your history, tests and habits.
How it works
Your DNA does not change during your life, so the test is done only once. Sampling takes place at home and takes 1–2 minutes: a saliva sample from the inside of the cheek with a special cotton swab. Shipping within Greece is free.
Your results are sent electronically within 20 working days after the laboratory receives the sample.
Our office has offered this service since 2016. Once you receive your results, you can book an appointment to have them explained.

Personal data
The analysis is carried out by iDNA Genomics and its partner laboratories. According to iDNA, the sample is destroyed after the quality control of the results. The processing of your genetic data is governed by the iDNA Genomics data protection policy, where you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data.

How much does the omega-3/omega-6 test cost?
The iDNA Test Vitamins & Trace Elements, which also includes the omega-6/omega-3 ratio, costs €60. Shipping within Greece is free.
How is the test done?
At home, in 1–2 minutes: a saliva sample from the inside of the cheek with a special cotton swab.
When are the results ready?
They are sent electronically within 20 working days after the laboratory receives the sample.
What does it test?
Vitamins B9, B12, C, D, E and B-complex vitamins; calcium, magnesium, selenium, iron and zinc; and the omega-6/omega-3 fatty acid ratio.
Does it show my vitamin levels?
No. It shows genetic tendencies, not certainties. For the actual levels of vitamins and trace elements you need blood tests.
Who explains the results?
Once you receive the results, you can book an appointment with the dietitian to have them explained.
IMPORTANT! For at least 30 minutes before taking the sample, you must not:
- Have you eaten food?
- have chewed gum
- have drunk any liquid, not even water
- have brushed your teeth
- have used mouthwash
- have smoked or vaped
The results of your personal analysis will be sent to you electronically within 20 working days from the day the laboratory receives the sample.

You can take this test from the comfort of your home, in Greece or abroad. Shipping within Greece is free.
For shipments outside Greece, the cost of sending and returning the kit is paid by the customer.
Indicative prices for Germany, Cyprus with prepaid shipping and return 40€ extra (charged together with the purchase of the kit).
Indicative prices for England with prepaid shipping and an additional €50 return (charged with the purchase of the kit).
